Terms of Service

College Price Check, a brand of JB United LLC ("the Company"), is a tool to help students and families understand their college financial aid offers. By accessing or using this site, you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. By accessing or using this site, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or are accessing with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Use of the tool

The Company's service is for personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to:

• Misuse or attempt to reverse-engineer any part of the service
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the service
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent data
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use the service for commercial resale, redistribution, or in any way that could harm other users or the platform

Purchases

The How-To Guide is a digital product delivered by email link after purchase. All sales of digital products are final except as provided under Our Promise below. If you did not receive your guide or had a technical issue accessing it, contact us at hello@collegepricecheck.com and the Company will resend it.

Subscriptions and membership tiers

The Company offers subscription-based membership tiers that provide access to enhanced features, support, and services. Subscriptions automatically renew every three months at the then-current rate unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing hello@collegepricecheck.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and you retain access through that date. The Company does not issue refunds for partial billing periods. The Company reserves the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Service sessions (email support, phone, and video calls)

Certain membership tiers or purchases include scheduled service sessions such as email support, phone calls, or video calls ("Sessions"). Sessions must be scheduled in advance using the Company's designated scheduling system.

Cancellation and no-show policy:

If you need to cancel or reschedule a Session, you must do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice and Sessions where you do not appear ("no-shows") are forfeited with no refund or credit. Email support is provided within the scope of your membership tier and is subject to reasonable response-time targets, which are not guaranteed. The Company reserves the right to reschedule a Session with reasonable advance notice in cases of Company unavailability.

Our Promise

The Company guarantees that customers who act on the strategies in their personalized How-To Guide will find savings of some amount. If you follow the guide and your school costs do not decrease at all, the Company will refund the amount you paid in full, subject to the conditions below.

This guarantee is void if:

• You did not follow the strategies as written in your guide
• The school's own policies prevented the action described
• You had already exhausted the relevant aid option prior to purchase
• Submitted documentation is incomplete or falsified

The Company's determination of whether documentation is sufficient is final.

To claim a refund, email hello@collegepricecheck.com within 90 days of purchase with documentation showing you acted on your guide and your costs did not decrease. Accepted documentation by action type:

• Portal submissions (housing change, meal plan downgrade, health insurance waiver): a screenshot confirming the submission or change
• Emails to the school: a copy of the email sent and any response received; if no response, evidence of at least one follow-up
• Phone calls: a follow-up email sent to the school or to yourself summarizing the call and your request
• Financial aid appeal: your sent appeal email, any response received, and your follow-up attempt
• Scholarship applications: screenshots of each submitted application
• Self-directed strategies (textbooks, transportation): receipts or screenshots showing you took the lower-cost action described in the guide

Guide access

Purchased guides are accessible via the unique link sent to your email address. Keep your email for future reference.

Your data

Any financial information you enter is used to generate your cost breakdown and improve the service. Documents you upload (such as offer letters) are processed to extract cost data and are not stored after processing. The Company collects your email address to deliver your guide and send relevant updates. The Company does not sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Accuracy

Benchmark data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard, a publicly available federal database. The Company does not create or control this data. It is provided by the federal government and may not reflect the most current, complete, or school-specific costs. The Company makes no representation as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of data sourced from the College Scorecard or any other third-party source. Savings estimates are based on national averages and may not reflect your specific situation. The Company's service is for informational purposes only.

Savings estimates

Savings figures shown on this site — including ranges and examples — are based on the Company's experience working with students and families. They are illustrative and not a guarantee of what any individual will save. Individual results will vary based on your school, financial aid offer, and household income.

Intellectual property

All content, design, text, graphics, logos, and software on this site are owned by or licensed to JB United LLC and are protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of this service without express written prior permission from the Company.

Third-party links and services

The site may contain links to third-party websites or reference third-party services. The Company is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Links do not constitute an endorsement.

No professional advice

Content on this site, including any guide, analysis, session, or communication from the Company, is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this site or provided through the service constitutes financial, legal, tax, investment, or professional advice. Results will vary based on individual circumstances. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE COMPANY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. SAVINGS ESTIMATES AND BENCHMARKS ARE ILLUSTRATIVE AND NOT GUARANTEED. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JB UNITED LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE COMPANY'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS ($25.00). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JB United LLC and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right; or (d) any content or information you submit to the service.

Termination

The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, without liability to you. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections covering Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution survive termination.

Dispute resolution — binding arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration, rather than in court, except as described below. Arbitration shall be conducted under the rules of a nationally recognized arbitration organization (such as JAMS or the American Arbitration Association) then in effect. The arbitration shall take place in Contra Costa County, California, unless the parties agree otherwise. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights. Either party may also bring qualifying claims in small claims court in lieu of arbitration.

Class action waiver

YOU AND THE COMPANY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. If this waiver is found unenforceable, the Dispute Resolution section above shall not apply and disputes shall be resolved in court.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For any matters not subject to arbitration, you consent to personal jurisdiction and exclusive venue in the state and federal courts located in Contra Costa County, California.

Changes

The Company may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. For significant changes, the Company may provide additional notice by email.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

No waiver

The Company's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision in any subsequent instance.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JB United LLC regarding the service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements and understandings.

Force majeure

The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, government actions, internet outages, third-party platform failures, or labor disputes.
